Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico, USA is about 50 square miles of the Pajarito Plateau, in the Jemes mountains. Over 70% of the mountain is Wilderness, with over one mile of elevation change from the Rio Grande. Bandelier National Monument protects over 33000 acres of stony but beautiful canyon and is the farthest area from all cities of the USA. the existence of humans here goes back over 11000 years. Near to 1150 AD Ancestral Pueblo people began to build more permanent settlements.

Twelve miles from the park’s main area, in the Tsankawi portion, visitors can take a 1.5-mile mesatop hike and see petroglyphs, a sizable unexcavated ancestral pueblo settlement, caves, and expansive views. There are four ladders on this hike. The Bandelier backcountry provides options for all-day or even multi-day overnight backpacking expeditions for longer hikes. It is considered as a great and most visited National Monument in the USA. The majority of the 70 miles of trails are located in the Bandelier Wilderness, which has official status. Overnight travel permits are free and can be obtained in person at the visitor center. A museum, bookstore, 14-minute movie, information, gift shop, snack bar, and picnic space are all located in the visitor center area. Most guests must board a free shuttle bus from White Rock during the peak season.
